The Master Programs in Freiberg and Paris
The German-French double master's degree in geophysics builds on existing master's programs at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris. These are the Master Geophysik in Freiberg and the Master Sciences de la Terre, Planètes et Environnement (STPE) in Paris. Due to an agreement between the two universities, an exchange program can be easily organized within the framework of these degree programs. To obtain the joint degree, at least one semester of 30 ECTS must be completed at the partner university. The courses to be taken are identified together with the students in advance of the exchange and recorded in a learning agreement. The language of instruction is English at both locations. If the students feel sufficiently confident with regard to the respective national language, courses in German or French from the entire portfolio of the teaching program are also available to them. The courses offered are variable and constantly changing due to changing lecture offerings. A current list of courses in English can be found here.
