The Resource University
The Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg is a state technical university in Freiberg in the German state of Saxony. The interconnected fields of geo, materials, energy and environment give it a distinctive profile as a resource university. With 27 professors, the Geo Faculty is one of the strongest research institutions in this field in Germany. With about 4000 students in total and about 800 geo-students, it is a small but highly specialized university that is internationally renowned. The study program in the geosciences includes 3 bachelor's, 9 master's, and 2 diploma programs and is distinguished by individual attention and high professional competence. The Institute of Geophysics and Geoinformatics offers a joint Bachelor's program in Geophysics and Geoinformatics as well as two separate Master's programs in the jdisciplines. With the Computational and Mathematical Geoscience branch of the Geoscience program, it participates in the international English-language programs offered by the faculty.
